Flock 2013

Flock 2013 has come to an end. It was one of the best experiences I have personally had in my life. Leaving the conference I have a better understanding of the direction Fedora is going, I have learned of the badges, yes the badges. I am excited to see the new system working and I am hoping that will bring some new contributors to the project.  I really enjoyed meeting new people and finally putting a face to a name, saying that I have met some really cool people and made some new friends along the way.

During the marketing hackfest with Tactica I got assigned to create a wiki page for a marketing kit, being part of something is a really good feeling and I am happy to give back to the Fedora community in ways that I can.  The events at night and the ghost tour were just Awesome, it was a great way to kick back and relax with good food, drinks and friends. I personally thought the aquariam was an awesome touch to finish the conference off, It was so beautiful to see the water, the battleship, the bridge and the aquarim inside was very nice as well. In Toledo we really don’t have anything going on in our port, so its more of a warehouse feel. I really enjoyed the Nightclub Mynt, they had awesome food and drinks, a group of us even went back there Sunday night to hangout. The staff was really cool and fun to hangout with.

Overall this will be an experience I will never forget, I was very happy to get subsidized for this event. I look forward to providing more contributions to the project and seeing everyone next Year 🙂
